More Recent Pastel Painting…
This Dale Earnhart painting was completed in December. Initially I was going with basic white pastel on black, and later added in full colour to the sunglasses, along with a red glow around the whole image.
Similar style was used in a painting several years ago of John Lennon.

Love the energized lines around your subjects. ‘Aggressive’ red for Dale and ‘Electric’ blue/violet for John. Coincidentally I was just reading of Toulouse-Lautrec’s poster of Caudieux ,1893 and his use of a green outline perhaps to emphasize speed.
